But did you know that Roxtec often customizes the underground seals to help customers stop water leakage or succeed in tricky renovation projects when the standard sizes of the seals do not fit cast-in wall openings in unusual dimensions? By tailoring products, Roxtec makes it possible to handle special applications.
In renovation projects and retrofits of existing buildings, customers often discover non-standard-sized penetration openings. When this problem occurs, they can always turn to Roxtec for help. Roxtec representatives visit the site, measure the penetrations, and assess the need. The Roxtec technical and commercial support team then proposes a sealing solution. Once the solution is approved by the customer, the tailor-made seal is produced and delivered with installation advice, and, if needed, even with installation training onsite.
Better with new seals than missing seals
Customized versions of Roxtec UG™ (underground) seals are usually needed when standard seals do not fit the leaking penetration openings. There was, for example, a customer who had water on the parking garage floor because the cable conduit penetrations had no seals. Roxtec created customized solutions to seal the conduits. Customized seals can also be important in renovation projects, where new penetrations for cable conduits need to be sealed both inside and outside and there is no standard seal for the inside. Another customer had leaking basement wall penetrations because there were no entry seals. The issue was solved by excavating the penetrations and installing customized seals.
Tailored sleeves for standard seals
Roxtec has a lot of experience in manufacturing customized seals, and the salespeople are seasoned professionals who can help customers solve problems by finding the most cost-effective solution. The sealing experts were, for example, asked to have a look at a leaking substation. The problem was that cable conduits without puddle flanges had been cast directly into the concrete wall. The solution was to add Roxtec customized openable sleeves to the conduit for use with any Roxtec seal. They could also recommend the customer to use Roxtec knock-out sleeves (KOS) next time, as the KOS are developed for casting and do not deform because of any concrete weight.
Inspections for preventing leakage
The Roxtec ability to customize products and solve problems is a very positive factor that helps create long-term partnerships and close cooperation with customers. Customers are always welcome to ask for help. It can be in the form of onsite inspections of old penetrations that may start to, or already have started to, leak. Roxtec representatives can often suggest both immediate and preventive sealing solutions.
