Roxtec is proud to mark 20 years of membership with the prestigious Energy Industries Council (EIC), a global trade association connecting the energy sector across oil & gas, power, renewables, nuclear and more.
On July 7, Andrew Scutter, Membership Manager (Midlands) for the EIC, visited Roxtec UK’s Bury HQ to present a certificate celebrating this milestone, which heralds long-term credibility in the energy sector.
The strength of two decades together
Since joining the EIC in 2005, Roxtec has leveraged the council’s extensive global market intelligence, project tracking tools, procurement guides and energy sector insights to expand the wider business. Roxtec now boasts more than 28 sales companies internationally across key territories including the Americas, Asia and Europe. Over the past two decades, the EIC has been instrumental in supporting Roxtec’s diversification across key energy sectors. While oil & gas was once Roxtec’s mainstay market, the company has since expanded into a range of other clean energy sectors, including nuclear, hydrogen, renewables, offshore wind and tidal energy.
Roxtec’s Managing Director, Clive Sharp, reflected fondly on the partnership and said: “Our EIC membership doesn’t just put us on the radar, it has been a strategic pillar, empowering us to connect to decision makers and global projects. It has provided a forum for influence and innovation and allowed us to change focus beyond primarily oil & gas to identify the latest developments across emerging clean energy markets and grow with them. This anniversary comes as a great opportunity to reflect on a longstanding and very valuable relationship.”
Notable milestones over the years include:
In January 2021, Roxtec won the Diversification Award at the 2020 EIC Energy Supply Chain Awards, which take place every year, celebrating supply chain innovation and resilience across all energy sectors. Here, Roxtec was recognised for its dynamic shift beyond oil & gas into innovations across pharmaceuticals, rail, infrastructure and clean energy, an achievement praised by EIC CEO Stuart Broadley who said at the time: “Diversification was the most popular growth strategy in 2020, so it’s a big deal to win this award.”
Roxtec is also an active participant in a range of EIC board level and R&D initiatives, regional committees and industry groups focused on safety, innovation and best practice within the energy sector. Through its membership with the EIC, Roxtec has gained early visibility into global project pipelines and access to key decision makers, enabling the business to collaborate effectively on major projects as a trusted supplier.
Roxtec has benefitted from the EIC’s market intelligence tools, particularly its DataStream platform and any associated industry events. They have played a vital role in identifying opportunities and closely guiding Roxtec's strategic engagement with major developers, allowing the company to tailor its product innovations in line with sector needs. These EIC driven opportunities have been instrumental in bringing Roxtec’s advanced sealing solutions into the heart of critical energy infrastructure solutions, while keeping the business close to developments in both established and emerging markets.
Additionally, Roxtec’s collaboration with the EIC has supported its involvement in large scale offshore projects, as well as enhancing its visibility with key EPCs and end users. The business has also engaged regularly with EIC networking opportunities and briefings, which have been crucial to informing strategy and product development.
Roxtec’s industry contributions also span across multiple high risk and compliance environments. In offshore wind, Roxtec has been involved in over 40 projects across Europe, including landmark developments such as London Array and Greater Gabbard, providing cable and pipe seals that ensure operational safety in harsh marine environments.
In oil & gas, Roxtec’s systems have been deployed in the North Sea, as well as across globally significant projects like Gorgon in Australia and Kashagan in Kazakhstan. Roxtec is also supporting progress in tidal energy and new nuclear infrastructure, where resilience, modularity and compliance with evolving standards are key. The partnership with the EIC has been vital in opening the door to these opportunities, offering direct access to major energy builds and facilitating long-term, strategic growth on a global scale.
Looking towards a bright future
The certificate presentation on July 7 offered a moment to reflect on two decades of shared industry progress, while reaffirming Roxtec’s commitment to future-facing solutions in energy transition, renewables, nuclear and beyond.
Clive added: “With partnerships such as this, you get out what you put in. We have enjoyed high levels of engagement with the EIC through its many committees and events, which has allowed us to scale globally. Looking ahead, we see our relationship with the EIC playing a central role as we align more closely with the energy transition. As demand grows for resilient, safety critical infrastructure across renewables, clean energy and next generation energy systems, we expect the EIC to remain a key partner in connecting us with the right stakeholders and opportunities. The future for our sectors is bright and long may this continue with the invaluable support and insights of the EIC.”
Andrew Scutter said: “Roxtec has been a valued EIC member for 20 years, and it's been fantastic to see the company go from strength to strength across the global energy sector. Whether it's through regular involvement in our events and committees, using our market intelligence tools or celebrating their EIC Company of the Year Award in 2020, Roxtec has always made the most of the member benefits. We're proud to mark this milestone and look forward to continuing our work together.”
