At Roxtec, we are shifting our view from "waste management" to "resource management."
We treat our material flows from raw steel and rubber to production scrap as strategic assets rather than liabilities. By focusing on resource efficiency, we reduce our reliance on virgin materials and strengthen our supply chain against global volatility. While challenges remain, especially in rubber recycling, our goal is to transform every output into a valuable resource for our own or others' processes.
We do this through:
- Material innovation and substitution
- Insetting – reusing our scrap instead of buying virgin materials
- Offsetting – send to partners who make something new
- Customer waste take-back pilot program
- Production process innovation
- Transparency and data
Moving from “waste” to strategic assets
Recycled own materials
We work with partners on piloting methods to break down production materials, so they can be reintegrated in our manufacturing. This reduces waste and protects the business against raw material volatility, ensuring our core products are built using more sustainable resource cycles.
Sourcing recycled materials
We are increasingly sourcing and receiving data evidence for recycled content. We have, for example, launched a new family of knock-out frames where traditional steel is replaced with recycled plastics.
Engineering for ease of recycling
We are working to integrate modular principles into our design process to simplify installation and future recycling. By focusing on component separation, we aim to reduce waste and help customers manage resources more responsibly.
Example of customer pilot project
Roxtec maintains a strong focus on the power and process industry segments, supporting customers with seals for the global energy transition while developing new application areas within renewable energy. For example, through a circular pilot with Semco Maritime, we completed a take-back program of rubber waste from sealing upgrades. By aligning logistics and sustainability expertise, we established a scalable blueprint for global material recycling and the opportunity for reducing the use of virgin rubber.
Circularity in complex value chains demands more than intention – it demands alignment and dedicated focus. Our partnership with Roxtec has shown that the right partner makes scalable impact possible.
