Job Summary 

The Production Manager will manage local manufacturing teams including the Waterjet & Assembly team, Weld Shop team and Planning Coordinators. They will also coordinate with our TACS, Logistics and Shipping departments to provide a high level of customer service. The position reports to the Operations Manager.

Essential Job Functions  

  • Manage the Waterjet & Assembly team, Weld Shop team, & Planning Coordinator(s) with a focus on safety, quality and production schedule to meet or exceed customer needs
  • Develop costing quotes for custom manufactured Roxtec solutions
  • Regular production meetings with Waterjet & Assembly, Weld Shop and Planning Coordinator(s)to assure completion of shop orders on schedule
  • Coordinate safety training and safety initiatives for all production team members & direct reports
  • Assist the Shop Supervisor & Waterjet / Assembly Supervisor in the scheduling and analysis of internal manufacturing processes
  • Assist in industrialization of new product designs as needed
  • Backup all duties of Planning Coordinator
  • Create Shop Orders and Purchase Requisitions as required to fulfill customer orders
  • Daily SO material exception analysis & resolution
  • Local supplier management including supplier scorecard with support from the Quality Manager
  • Develop new suppliers as needed including supplier setup, credit applications & NDAs
  • Manage the purchasing of raw materials to meet due dates and agreed lead times with outside suppliers, including regular supplier follow-up and quality validation.
  • Develop and maintain reports on production team performance and other KPI’s
  • Initiate projects to resolve customer issues or inefficiencies related to the manufacture of customized solutions including RCA’s and CAPA.
  • Assist in production risk assessment and mitigation activities
  • Gather and report sustainability data related to manufacturing activities
  • Assist your team’s supervisors in hiring, training, performance evaluations
  • Other reporting, purchasing, planning and manufacturing management activities as required

Requirements 

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude required
  • Personnel and project management experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and follow-through skills 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, logistics concepts and business procedures relating to data entry, order delivery & shipping with a focus on customer service are desirable.
  • Solution oriented personality who is customer focused
  • Requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written 
  • Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Capable of making independent decisions and possess the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment, be a self-starter with a sense of urgency and personal responsibility to support the flow of production to support our sales and growth strategy

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years manufacturing and planning experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
