Standardise with Roxtec seals and reduce risk for cabinet and enclosure applications

Reduce drilling

With traditional cable glands, it requires a lot of space to tighten the glands, hence cable density becomes low as cables are far apart. Drilling or punching new holes in existing cabinets is complicated, risky and often requires a hot work permit or system shutdown. Problems with metal filings as a result of drilling or punching are common and might jeopardize operations. In Ex certified cabinets punching new holes is not permitted without reverifying the cabinet.

Save time

As modern cabinets include more and flexible I/O systems, it is not unusual with 50-150 cables going into one cabinet. The time to correctly install this amount of cable glands is a significant disadvantage and should be avoided when possible. Cable glands also have limited flexibility when it comes to handling variations in cable thicknesses. This, in combination with the fact that one gland always equals one cable, makes it impossible to standardise with a cable sealing solution and at the same time account for late changes. As being able to use standardised solutions is one of the biggest savings any project can have, this becomes a major setback when using cable glands.

Increase safety

By optimizing cable routing and sealing through decisions in the early design phase, you give the installers in the field the directions they need to prevent hazards to life and assets. When you design in multi-cable transits, you make it easy for contractors to ensure the highest degree of protection. It is very efficient to cover many sorts of hazards, such as rodents, dust and water ingress, at that level with just one solution. To ensure electrical safety, this can be combined with a bonding and grounding functionality in the same solution. Manage high cable density and high demands for environmental protection. Seal, bond and ground all metal-clad and armored cables in one opening instead of punching possible leak paths for cable glands. It also reduces the size and cost of cabinets.
