The end-customer wanted their special vehicles to withstand overpressure and electromagnetic interferences as well as water and dust ingress. The vehicles must also be easy to upgrade. Wong Fong Engineering managed to meet all the requirements by using Roxtec cable entry seals.
The specific requirements were first related to the internal pressure within the vehicle, necessitating cable sealing solutions capable of withstanding these conditions, and then also to EMI protection. The cable glands and other sealing solutions that had been used up until then were unable to fulfill the new requirements. Hence, the engineers of Wong Fong Engineering evaluated the Roxtec sealing system’s capability of ensuring full compliance. The result was perfect for the end-customer.

After testing many different methods, Wong Fong Engineering is very satisfied to have finally found Roxtec. With one single sealing solution, they can now ensure overpressure control, EMI protection and ingress protection. They are also happy with the prompt technical assistance from Roxtec which helped them manage the process and meet the short turnaround lead time.

Quick to install, easy to upgrade
The engineers find Roxtec seals easy to install. They now save at least 50% of maintenance time. Most important is the built-in spare capacity: Roxtec systems allow for straightforward addition of cables, without the need to drill a lot of holes during installation. This simplifies expansion or modification. And the split seal design eliminates the need for cutting off and reattaching connectors.
