Roxtec is growing rapidly as world leader in modular-based cable and pipe transits. To be able to continue to serve an increasing number of customers, we invest in people, production and logistics. On November 17, we inaugurated our new global distribution center at the Roxtec headquarters on Verkö in Karlskrona, Sweden.
The state-of-the-art distribution center immediately doubled our warehouse capacity and will help us increase efficiency for quick and precise deliveries all over the world. The global distribution center covers 9 000 square meters and is built for purpose with eight truck gates.
“This is an important investment to support our current and future growth,” says Pernilla Öhlin, Global Logistics Manager at Roxtec. “Just beside our production facilities, the global distribution center enables us to be efficient in our processes and enjoy a better work environment.”
Improving the work environment
The construction work started in January 2024 and was finalized on schedule. There has been a clear focus on work environment and sustainability, and the coworkers have been deeply involved in the project. Behind the scenes, there was a large project team which included management as well as employees working with storage and logistics.
“We have prioritized the work environment through great ventilation, daylight openings and air purifiers, and we have also focused on safety, ergonomics, and aesthetics.”
The building is equipped with a sedum roof with solar cells making it energy neutral, meaning that it produces as much energy as it uses. There are also green areas, plantations, walkways with benches and two terraces with a view of the archipelago.
