New class requirements for cable transits affecting shipyards and owners

New class requirements for cable transits affecting shipyards and owners

IACS, the International Association of Classification Societies, has released new and updated requirements regarding control, documentation and inspection of watertight cable transits onboard vessels and offshore units.

The regulations are now in force and apply to ships and offshore units contracted for construction on or after July 1, 2021.

The increasing safety demands call for action among ship owners and shipyards. In order to meet the new IACS unified requirements, it is for example important to systemize control and documentation of installation quality – during construction and throughout the lifecycle of the asset.

Roxtec presents a webinar on September 23 and 24 explaining what these new requirements mean. It is an opportunity for you to learn more about what a cable transit seal systems register is and what actions you need to take in order to be compliant with the new requirements.
