Hazardous areas are classified into zones based on the possibility of occurrence of an explosive atmosphere (Directive 94/9/EC and 1999/92/EC)
Our ATEX-certified products are marked "II 2 GD Ex e II Ex tD A21" and are intended to be installed in zone 1 and 2 in risk areas for gas, mist or vapours
In risk areas for dust, the products are allowed to be installed in zone 21 and 22.
"Ex e" (increased safety) marked products provide a higher degree of safety. This ensures reliable prevention of unacceptably high temperatures and sparks or electrical arcs, both on the internal and the external parts of electrical or mechanical equipment whose normal operation does not involve unacceptably high temperature sparks or arching.
The cable entries are to be used only in combination with specified Ex modules.
Typical applications:
Installation material such as junction boxes, connection cabinets for heating systems, batteries, transformers, ballast and cage motors etc.
