Roxtec seals secure strategic petrochemical complex in Brazil

The Petrobras “Petroquímica Suape project” in Recife, Brazil, will result in one of the most important integrated polyester centers in Latin America. Roxtec is supplying adaptable cable and pipe seals to help ensuring a safe and efficient installation process.
The new plant is located in the industrial port of Suape. It will start producing later this year – using the latest technology. The plant includes three integrated industrial units for production of, for example, polymers, polyester filament and PET resin for packaging. The project is part of the portfolio of strategic projects of Petrobras as well as of the Brazilian government’s plan for accelerated growth. Since a large scale project requires a lot of cables of different sizes, there was a need for reliable and flexible sealing solutions.

International selection

Being a global supplier, Roxtec works with designers all over the world. In this project, the close co-operation between Roxtec in India and Aker Solutions India led to a specification of Roxtec cable and pipe seals for the Brazilian project. The sealing products turned out to be practical in several buildings, control rooms and substations.

Invention for efficiency

Roxtec Multidiameter™, which is a solution for adaptability based on sealing modules with removable layers, actually allows contractors reducing the number of items needed for the various installations. It means smaller investments in inventory and minimized stock.
The designers and installers could also rely on local support from Roxtec in Brazil, which was another project requirement that made Roxtec suitable as partner also in Suape.
