Roxtec seals deal on UK’s longest-established LNG terminal

2010-09-29

Roxtec will supply seals to an upgrade of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Receiving Terminal on the Isle of Grain in Kent. It is the longest-established LNG receiving terminal in the UK.
Roxtec will supply cable penetration seals for the phase 3 upgrade of the terminal. The project involves the building of a second jetty and the construction of two large local equipment rooms (LER). The LER’s control the process plant that returns liquefied natural gas back to natural gas before forwarding it to the National Grid.
“Roxtec is used on the LER buildings to safeguard against fire and blast for cables passing through the walls,” says Graham O’Hare, Managing Director of Roxtec UK. “Personnel and expensive control equipment are properly protected through the life cycle of the plant.”
