No water, salt, dust or rats. No electromagnetic disturbance. None of these risk factors may affect the SAPEI HVDC link between Sardinia and the Italian mainland.

The SAPEI is a 435 km long transmission system with a capacity of 1,000 MW. The double submarine cable runs at 1,640 meters below sea level – a world record.
